August 2006
Atlanta, Georgia and the Fabulous Fox Theatre. And fabulous it was. They just don't build theatres like this one anymore. As the first act lights would go out, we could see the glow of the "sky" painted on the ceiling of the theatre. The audiences were just great. It would have been nice to stay a couple of weeks, but the week we had here was great. Check out the Fox Theatre website below for photos if you're interested. Look under "About the Fox."

The doctor recommended to us on our city sheets was a 45 minute drive from downtown, so I found this doctor, who was only a couple of miles away, about a $6.00 cab ride each way. Dr. Greco is covered by CIGNA. I was having some pretty bad headaches because my neck was out of whack, so I was desperate for an adjustment. And I got one. He is a pretty aggressive adjuster. He cracked my from the tips of my fingers to the tips of my toes and everywhere in between. He cracked my clavicle! I have never had that done. So unless you're really used to chiropratic adjustment, I don't know if I'd go here. Again, he was very good and my headaches stopped almost immediately. He lso placed a follow-up call to me to see how I was doing. I appreciated that since I wasn't even a regular patient. I saw him twice in the week I was there.

Amazing people and doctors. Great walk-in clinic. About 5 miles from the Fox Theatre. There are great reviews on the web and the staff couldn't be nicer!

What a beautiful hotel! Elegant building, lovely staff, and right across the street from the Fabulous Fox Theatre. Most of the rooms are apartment style with full kitchens; some have washers/dryer, not all. The kitchens were not well-stocked with pots, pans, etc, when we arrived, but they did bring a decent set to use. They have a nice onsite fitness room and a rooftop pool. There is a grocery store about five blocks away. I wish all of our lodging was like this.

This is one of the newest aquariums in the country and, I believe, the largest. It has been packed since opening last November, and I didn't get there because the ticket availability was so limited. If you want to go, get online and make the ticket arrangements immediately. They make reservations by the hour. Those who went really seemed to enjoy it.

Mary Mac's was really the only place I ate out in Atlanta since we had kitchens in our hotel. But I was so glad I went! Good southern cooking. I had country fried steak with the creamiest mashed potatoes ever. The creamed corn was fresh off the cob, and the breads (cinnamon rolls, corn bread muffins and yeast rolls) were just great. The place was packed and the prices were very reasonable. The only downside was the nap I wanted halfway through the first act of our Sunday night show.

Three of us had treatments here on the Monday that we arrived. The spa is open until 9:00 PM. We all had massages and facials, and ate dinner by the pool in our spa robes. We had just a lovely night. Now, this was by no means inexpensive, but it was great for a really special, pamper yourself evening. Massages range from $60/30 min to $205/120 min; facials start at $100/60 min. The staff here was so accomodating to each of us personally in our treatments, and to us as a group with our time. The spa itself does not have a steam room or sauna, but you can use the hot tub and pool while you are there. All in all a great evening.
