I became licensed as a Technician Class Amateur Radio operator in January 1999.  My initial FCC allocated call sign was KG4CED.  I then changed to my current vanity call sign of W4LJT in May of 1999.

I then upgraded to a General Class operator on November 5, 2000 and to an Extra Class operator on November 14, 2000.  I am a current member of the Gwinnett Amateur Radio Society.

A special thanks to my friend and “Elmer” Jack Herndon – WU4H for helping me get into the hobby, lending me equipment, showing me the ropes and encouraging me to pursue my studies of Morse code and technical theory to achieve the General and Extra class ratings.

I operate VHF / UHF Mobile in Simplex mode and through our club repeaters almost daily.  I also operate HF from home in the evenings and on weekends when time permits.

I especially enjoy the digital modes of PSK-31 and MFSK16 on the 10 and 20 Meter HF bands and I have made contacts with Europe, Japan and Australia in these modes using as little as 25 watts of power.  Below are some images and lists of my equipment.
