An Introduction to ESL Level 4 On-line Activities

This page was last updated on 9/2/00

This webpage introduces you to on-line activities on the Internet. If you have never used the Internet before, you will find this page an easy introduction. The most important purpose of this page is to lead you to more information about the topics that you are studying in your textbook, Linkages. There are also photos of the ancient city, Pompeii to supplement the listening book..

How do I use this website?

On the left of the page, there is a menu of topics. When you click (put the arrow cursor on top of a word or image) on a topic with your mouse, you'll go to a different page. To come back to your previous location, click on the back button at the top of the page. Try it now.

The page that you are on now is called the homepage. All of the pages related to Level 4 topics are linked (connected) to this page. All you have to do to get here is to click on the home button.

Each topic has links to information. Each link has an assignment. All links in this website are in colored type and are underlined. On the right is an example of links from another website (The links are not active. Don't try to click on them). Here's the "Yahoo" website. Click on the link and then, click the back button to get back to this page.

Some of your assignments, worksheets for example, are on-line. After you complete an on-line assignment, print your assignment. Hand it in to your instructor.

If you have any questions or comments, you can send an e-mail (electronic mail) message to me (Prof. Liz Neblett). Just click on the Questions and Comments link in the menu. Then, type your message in the space provided.

Now, you're ready to begin. Click on one of the topics in the menu on the left or on the menu below.

Good Luck!
