Not all the palms on this list are rare,but are all great plants.We offer a large proportion of blue or
gray-leaved types,which tend to be quite durable,and others with beautiful to weird leaf or trunk characters.
 
BRAHEA armata desert palm with bright blue-gray leaves,somewhat slow.Sun, FT

DYPSIS (Madagascar)
       ambositrae virtually extinct in habitat(less than 10 trees). Beautiful with 2-3 trunks,10-20ft tall, seedlings with very narrow leaflets. 1-gal (5-6L) $13
       baronii(*)  graceful,elegant,forms groups of 3-5. Colorful tree with dark green leaves,rather easy,filt sun when young.Liner (4L) $5,1-gal (5L) $10
       decaryi   the "triangle" palm,leaves emerge in 3 ranks,are gray-green.Sun SC large 1-gal $11
       decaryi "white form"(*) no description available, so far it looks like the normal form. 1-gal $24 liner (2-3L) $18
       decipiens  spectacular,with bulged trunk,green to gray leaves and crownshaft,usually forms groups of 2. Sun,FT 1-gal (5+L) $10 ,liner(3L) $5
       fibrosa  beautiful, small. New leaves reddish becoming dark green,trunk with thick dark fibers,may branch dichotomously. Shade, TR?.Liner (2-5L) $10
       lucubensis(*) form of D. madagascarensis,tall (over 30ft) with waxy green leaves in 3 ranks.Sun when established,SC.Liner (3L) $5
       onilahensis  destined to become a classic landscape palm but rare now.Forms small groups to med. height, dark arched leaves. Sun, drought,SC Liner (3-4L) $6
       tsarantanensis  another rare clustering palm, dark green leaves with crownshaft, small-med. height. Liner (3-4L) $5
HYOPHORBE verschaffeltii trunk bulged in middle,seedling leaves attractive green with yellow trim, recurved when older. Sun, SC (protect from frost). Sm 1-gal $8, liner(3-4L) $3
LATANIA loddigesii(*) fan palm eventually with glaucous blue leaves,seedling leaves Green with attractive red-yellow. Sun,SC 1-gal (4 fan L) $6
LYTOCARYUM weddellianum small delicate pinnate palm, prefers shade, good indoors, Slow. Shade, SC. Liner (2L) $3
MAROJEJYA darianii  freakish tree with large undivided chevron-shaped leaves (to over 12 ft long) with no petiole. TR-SC (?), shelter from wind. 1-gal (4-5L) $8
RAVENEA glauca(*) small with narrow trunk and graceful leaves (green above,waxy-glaucous below). Filt-full sun,SC. Liner (3L) $10
SABAL bermudana heavy,stocky fan palm to about 20ft tall,gray-green leaves, easy though slowish. Sun, FT. Liner (2L) $1.50
TRITHRINAX brasiliensis (T. acanthacoma)becomes deserty-looking fan palm with bluish leaves and densely (dangerously) spiny trunk. Sun,HF. Liner (1L) $3
