Identification

There are at least four different types of books produced under the name "Little Leather Library." Sometimes a set of these books was offered with two matching "Lincoln head" bookends.


Type I

Dates published: 1916 or after, but before 1921

Cover: Genuine leather covers

Distinguished by "Little Leather Library" logo embossed on front cover.


Type II

Dates published: 1916 or after, but before 1921

Cover: Real soft suede leather covers. Genuine endpapers.

Distinguished by embossed floral border and "Little Leather Library" logo embossed on back cover.


Type III

Dates published: 1918 early 1920's.

Cover: Fake smooth red Leather

Distinguished by book title & "Little Leather Library" logo gold color stamp on front cover.


Type IV

Dates published: Early 1920's to mid-1924.

Cover: Fake Embossed Leather

Distinguished by brownish green color & "Little Leather Library" logo embossed on back cover along with "Redcroft Edition" Some volumes have "Copyright, 1921, Little Leather Library Corporation."


Type V

Dates published: 1924 and after.

Cover: Fake Embossed Red Leather

Distinguished by red color & "Little Luxart Library" logo on back cover.
