Linanci Cattery, is located in northern Florida and owned by Linnea Danielsen. Linanci began as a joint venture by Linnea and her sister, Nancy Murphy in 1991. Since then, Nancy's interests have taken her in other directions but her valuable advice and her original vision will continue to be an integral part of the essence of a Linanci Scottish Fold.
While my goal is to breed longhaired Scottish Folds, most of my litters are a mixture of both long and shorthairs. The Linanci cattery name is registered with CFA , TICA, and ACFA.
I have been breeding since 1991 but began showing in 1990. I inherited my interest in the Cat Fancy from my mother, who bred Siamese back in the 1950s. Linanci babies are all hand raised underfoot and with love, and are Florida State Health certified. CFA Champion/TICA Grand Champion Nuggettes McNiffikitt of Linanci was our foundation male and was TICA's International and SE Regional 3rd Best Longhaired Scottish Fold of the 1993-94 year. Niffi has now retired from breeding and showing and lives with a wonderful family by the name of Brooks who live in British Columbia.
Approximately half of all Scottish Fold cats have straight ears. These cats are still pedigreed Scottish Folds, and have the same wonderful temperment and wide-eyed sweet faces. They just don't have folded ears. Straight eared Scottish Folds are a must for any reputable Scottish Fold Cattery's breeding program. All litters are the result of a straight eared Fold and a folded eared Fold pairing or a folded eared Fold and a British or American Shorthair.
These kittens will show
you the variations in ear fold of the Scottish Fold. Many people who aren't
sure they like the look of a cat with folded ears, fall in love with the
straight eared examples of the breed. You can also see what these kits
look like as adults on other pages of this website. Two of them went on
to have show careers, and one of them even had several litters of babies
before retiring. One of them stayed with us as she is my neice's best
friend, the other now rules the roost of a very nice small family in Florida.
The other two started on their life of leisure and spoiling immediately
and have since been joined by another longhaired fold. They live with
their doting mom in Montreal, Canada.
