A school district has banned the showing of the movie musical "1776" in a civics class because in the "But, Mr. Adams" scene, it emerges that Thomas Jefferson and John Adams, might want to have sex with their wives. "But I burn, Mr. A" "So do I, Mr. J" "What, you do?" "Johnny, who'd have thunk it?" The horror! The founders of our country liked to "do it". The dimwit behind this idea said that it was inappropriate, and there were better ways to use limited classroom time than showing a movie with sexual innuendo. Okay, hands up anyone here who can recall all that much about the Declaration of Independence without running through the "1776" script and score. I thought so.
