It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas.....well, no, but I keep telling myself that, and the first Christmas presents have rolled in. At the moment, I'm listening to this Elvis Costello album that I hadn't really heard of, "North", which seems to be another Juliet Letters type piece. To early to give a verdict, but I did like Juliet Letters, so I may like this one too. Gripe number one: What is it with that piece of tape on top of the CD case that you can't get off? After the evil shrinkwrap, do they really need that tape? My manicure is toast.
I went to the Kennedy Center tonight to see a Christmas Choral concert. The crowd singalong went quite well, as the conductor was able to keep the crowd soft during Silent Night. Most singalongs are like evil church hymns, droning and slow. Because the Australian ambassador was sponsoring the concert, the twelve days of Christmas was recast to adapt to the outback. I didn't catch anything above five (except 12 shearers shearing), but the chorus was "fiiiiiive platypi, four koalas, three kangaroos, two parakeets, and kookabura in a gum tree" I guess you had to be there.
And Bet thought SHE had the most boring blog alive....
