Now, when we first came upon the dog - he was a stray. We know that the regular Kansas natives don't like dogs, so doggie was probably abused. He wasn't much interested in people, and skittered away. Well, now when the dog sees you coming, he rolls over and exposes his tummy for scratching. He likes people (especially the ladies) and is now so unbelievably spoiled that he turns his nose up even at the vienna sausages. So what does this have to do with the people? It shows that the dog, once given a healthy environment, reverts to being a dog like all other doggies around the world. There's nothing inherently "different" about this dog, and he was able to overcome his past mistreatment. This gives me hope that the people of Kansas, given the right enviroment, will come around and behave like people all over the rest of the world -- they're not inherently "broken" or "bad".
