Last night the stray dog, who's getting socialized around people, came by for a visit. He had those sad doggie eyes, as doggies do, so we looked around for something to feed him. The previous night he had scarfed down some pop tarts, but we decided that although pop tarts may be part of a nutritious breakfast, the doggie needs some protein. So I went rummaging through my supplies and found a packet of tuna fish. Completely turned up his nose at it. Then I remembered that someone had sent a can of Vienna sausages, which he deigned to eat. Another person said that he had turned his nose up at a canteen hamburger the other day. After the sausages were gone, I tried the tuna again, pouring some of the vienna sausage liquid over it. He started to eat some but gave up. Now I know that no self-respecting non-Kansas doggie would eat tuna, but if I was a starving stray, I think I'd eat lots of things. I'm starting to suspect that perhaps he's not as starving as his eyes portray.
