Random dumb thoughts

This page is to put those little weirdnesses of life that don't really fit anywhere else, or aren't worth a page of their own

Someone has too much time on their hands and too many excess funds. I wasn't sure if this is for real. Besides, don't they know that the crumbly bits have no calories or carbs? Why would we want to get rid of them?

And from there "there's no pleasing some people" files.....while the boyfood problem has abated, I swear if I have to eat that "baked chicken" part one more meal...... We call them parts -- not that it's like chicken nugget parts (lips, toes, ears) -- but because they butcher the chicken strangely and you'll get a part breast/part thigh/half a wing. The chicken's nice, but variety is the spice of life. If that's the case, it's definitely Kansas here. And oh yeah, to save on dishwashing, we eat everything with plastic cutlery. Have you ever tried to attack chicken parts or steaks with a flimsy plastic fork? For each meal now, we must assess how many of these we're going to need. Steak night is a three fork event. Chicken parts do incorporate the five year old theme, because we just eat them with our hands. This is worse than the airlines -- at least on the airlines you get a real fork. Actually the more I think about it, life here is like one big plane ride -- uncomfortable beds/seats, no silverware, and it's always time to eat again for diversionary reasons. Oh yeah, and that overwhelming urge to get the hell out of there......

So, what's doing in Kansas now?

Well, the corn is whispering that we have a birthday girl in the house! A shout out to Heidi on her (mumble mumble)th birthday! She was very kind on not outing me on mine, so I shall return the favor today.

Kansas is still standing, although I could swear that even in Kansas they had a 7-11. This place is worse than the town that Ulysses Everett McGill was stuck in in 'O Brother, Where Art Thou' that was amazing because it was two weeks from everywhere. This place seems to be at least three weeks from everywhere. "O Shoes, Where Art Thou?" More importantly, "O Mattress, Where Art Thou"? I'm having one shipped in from New York. It was either that or a chiropractor.
