The comments, the comments....

They're teasing me with the comments. I know I saw them earlier today, but now they're gone again!

However, I am always amazed at the lengths people will go to to create and maintain communities on the internet. Hossein and company have been very good about keeping their users informed, and are working on getting a new server so that the comments will be up and running. And how much does all this cost me? Nothing -- they do it for free.

So keep up the good work, guys. And thanks.

Just a quick blog before I head off to sleep....

Out of habit, I shall comment on this evening's Glenn Tilbrook show at the Rams Head Tavern in Annapolis. Good show, although Glenn was a bit tired. The crowd was fairly small, and since it was all seated and therefore fairly quiet, he eventually got us up to take a stroll around the block. As expected, the police cruiser pulls up in the middle of the meander, and yours truly and one other audience member intercept the police and explain that he's really harmless, and we'll be back inside in a jiffy and causing no more disturbances of the peace. The policeman seemed a little confused, if fairly good natured about it. "It's okay as long as I don't get complaints about it."

As for the fashion report, I'll just say this in kindness. He looked like a man who just spent the day driving a fussy infant in a Winnebago that had lost its airconditioning, and leave it at that.

Your nominations please.....

I'm sitting here on a lazy Sunday morning, getting ready to go out and face the world, and I've got junk TV on. After a few episodes in the M*A*S*H* marathon (on FX, who'd have thunk it from the "all-M*A*S*H, all the time" channel), I flipped over to the Game Show Network for an episode of Match Game. There was a bizarre episode where both the contestants and the celebrities were idiots, so they were matching on the answers, and poor Gopher, Brett and Charles Nelson were all sitting on the top row scratching their heads, wondering why their reasonable answers aren't getting anywhere at all. The question that took the cake was something along the lines of "Johnny the pyromaniac was the subject of a new song....."You light up my BLANK". The top row said "condo, house, house", and the contestant and bottom row all said "fire". Gene's answer was even worse, as he said "wife", but hey, it's better than "fire".

However, the vagaries of Match Game are not the subject of today's blog. After Match Game, the worst game show that seems to have incredible longevity came on the air -- Press Your Luck. Why does that show stick around? "No Whammy! No Whammy!" That's right -- no whammy -- get the damn show off the air! It's horrible, and gets my vote for worst game show ever.

So when the comments actually come back to life, have at it. Is Press Your Luck the worst game show ever, or are there more horrible ones that I've blotted from my psyche?

The only bright side on junk TV this morning was E!'s showing of George Clooney's Love Chain. So there are reasons to get up in the morning, I guess.
