2003 Maltby Family Reunion in Amherst, Nova Scotia

 

The 2003 Maltby Family Reunion was held August 8, 9, and 10th in Amherst, Nova Scotia. It was hosted by Steve and Cathy Maltby, Walter and Beverly Maltby, Roy and Evelyn Maltby, and Rick and Shauna Doane, who put in a lot of work to make it a smashing success. There was a great turnout from various parts of Canada and the United States, from Nova Scotia and New Brunswick to Edmonton, Alberta, to Port St. Lucie, Florida, to Redwood City, California. We all met cousins for the first time that we had never met before, and were reacquainted with cousins we hadn’t seen in many years. We dined on lobster, potato and macaroni salads, corn, steak, more lobster, chicken, various other salads and breads, more lobster, and wonderful homemade desserts. There was horseback riding, swimming, golf, an afternoon at Tidnish Park, and a tour of Amherst and Fort Beausejour. After the reunion a number of Maltbys went up to Miramichi City to witness the baptism of a new Maltby and visit the family cemeteries in Newcastle.
