She managed to hold on for a while more, but I am sorry/happy to report that Valerie earned her wings on October 7, 1996I had been going to Houston once a week with my friend and fellow Master Lee to work with a woman and cancer patient named Valerie.
Lee had been working with Valerie for quite some time, and they were very bonded to each other. I was a new Master and Lee was trying to teach me more while helping this dear friend of hers.
The last time that I went, some really strange things happened. Valerie had been in a coma for a couple of days, and her doctors, family, Lee and myself thought that she would transition soon. She had gone into a coma the morning after we left the week before.
She had mysteriously come out of the coma the morning that we showed up....In time to say hello as we walked through the door. She said "Hi Lee, hi Terri" the second that she saw us, so we knew that she was also coherent.
The first time I laid my hands on her, I could feel the morphine as though I had been given a huge dose of it. Then, the coldness started. At first, I could not get the Reiki to flow when I touched her. I would activate my hands, they would get hot, and the second that I touched her, they would get cold. I thought perhaps she was refusing the energy, but Lee said that she was taking it from her. This was one of my first lessons in how a person will accept healing from only those that they trust implicitly.
After lunch, when I walked in the room, I activated my hands once again and this time, she took it from me as well. After about five minutes of Karuna, she asked me to work on her right hip which has been eaten through and was now broken in half. Lee was doing a body treatment from her feet.
As I put my hands on her hip, I felt tremendous pain in my hands and arms. I tried to shake it out, and that normally works... but it wouldn't go this time. She was getting such relief, that I did not feel justified in stopping the treatment.
After about a half an hour, my hands felt like they were on fire they were so hot, but the pain in my arms had spread to my entire body, and I was very sick to my stomach. I was kneeling on the floor as is my custom. I had my head laying on the bed, and my hands on her hip. They felt glued there. Valerie was passing in and out of consciousness, and every time that she went out, so did I. I felt as if we were connected in some strange way. I was in an astral state, but not asleep. I was completely aware of what was going on, but I couldn't pick my head up until she would start coming around again. I was so tired! I suddenly thought that if she died right then, that I would go with her, but I felt that that was ok too... (I've already been dead once in this lifetime and it was GREAT!)... but then I started thinking about how it would hurt Ivan and my kids , and especially my daughter Rachel, so I tried to break my contact with Valerie.
I was in such pain! I kind of staggered away from the bed, I thought I would vomit, but it cleared a little, and I was led to go back and lay hands on her again.
This time, I clearly saw a big beautiful Angel above me, and the Angel was pulling the negative energy out of my hands before it could enter the elbow area. If you have not had the pleasure of working with your Guides and Angels before, I highly suggest that you ask to be made aware of their presence, as they are always with you.
I was able to continue for about an hour more with the help of this Angel and then it was time to go.
On the way home, I passed out in the car and didn't wake up until we got back to Austin. I hadnšt even realized that I had fallen asleep. When I got home, all I was capable of doing was collapsing in bed with my husband holding me and Reiki-ing me till I fell asleep. I slept hard for around 14 hours, and it took about 3 days to be 100% again.
Lee is also an empathic healer, and we have since discussed in length the pros and cons of being so empathic. Many healers are afraid of this form of healing, but if you are well grounded and protect yourself in the proper way, with the proper intent there can be no problems. These are things that as a new healer I did not know
You cannot catch a disease from doing Reiki, but by using your empathy, you can very accurately find the main source of sickness and pain and treat it.
The amazing part is that Valerie's sister called Lee with in a couple of days and Valerie had been released from the hospital.
