Even if you don’t believe in the existence of extraterrestrial visitors, if by some chance you should happen across an unusual phenomenon in the sky, and you also happen to have your trusty camcorder with you, you would probably like to get the best images possible, to either help determine what the object(s) really are, or even better, to record the best U.F.O. video ever shot!
The purpose of this book is to introduce the reader to some of the basic principles of good videography, to explain the features and capabilities of most camcorders and then how to use this knowledge to get the most useful video possible in the event you should actually sight a U.F.O.
For the die-hard U.F.O. hunters, I have included a chapter for the advanced videographer and serious UFOlogists using scientific approaches that can be employed with a minimum of fuss using standard camcorders and other commonly available materials.
As it turns out, a little knowledge can go a long way in the search for good U.F.O. videos. You will not only enjoy reading this book but I’m sure it will help improve your everyday videos as well.

This book into four distinct sections; The first two chapters are for anyone wishing to get the best UFO videos possible with the equipment they own. The last two chapters are for the advanced UFO hunters who are willing to go the extra measure to bring back not just pictures, but useful scientific data as well.
The Camcorder: This chapter will get you up to speed on all the features and functions of modern camcorders. It provides a general overview of their use as well as some accessories that are pertinent to our purposes. Use this section in conjunction with your owner’s manual to familiarize yourself with all the features on your particular camera that may be needed during a real sighting.
Getting a Good Look: This is the process of trying to get a really good image of the object. It is what most inexperienced people try to do during chance encounters and it is a difficult thing to resist. We would all like to get a perfect shot of a UFO that is so clear and sharp that it could never be disputed. While this chapter will show you exactly how to do this, you must realize that in many cases, it mat simply not be possible to get a “picture perfect” image, and that for all your efforts, you may simply be wasting your time. While phase 2 images may not be as spectacular, they can provide researchers with valuable data that can be used to prove beyond a doubt, the true nature of the object being photographed.
Getting Good Data: This topic is the true meat and potatoes of this book. Mastering its pages will separate serious UFOlogists from the want-to-be’s who come back with a great story of their UFO encounter, but have nothing but useless crap on their videotape with which to prove it.
I have also split each of the two chapters above into Daytime encounters and Nighttime sightings. While the shooting techniques are similar, nighttime videography has a whole batch of unique problems that must be overcome in addition to all of those that pertain to daytime shots.
Practice: This chapter outlines various ways to use the equipment you have to practice the methods outlined in this book. It will give you a good idea of what to expect in case of a real sighting and allow you to make some real-life measurements to be sure you have used the methods correctly.
