Code of Conduct

In keeping with the spirit of our stated mission, it is essential to establish a Godly standard for behavior. In order to maintain an atmosphere conducive to academic and spiritual growth, students will be required to adhere to the following Code of Conduct.

ATTITUDE:

Students shall relate to authority figures with respect and courtesy.

“Now we ask, you, brothers, to respect those who work hard among you, who are over you in the Lord and who admonish you. Hold them in the highest regard in Love because of their work. Live in peace with each other."

1 Thess. 5:12,13

Students shall relate to fellow students with respect and courtesy.

"And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ also forgave you.” Eph. 4:32

Students shall approach their studies in a manner that glorifies God (i.e., assignment completion in a timely manner; preparation and participation in classes.)

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that your will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving."  Col. 3:23,24

SPEECH:

Students shall communicate in a Christ-like manner. No offensive language will be tolerated.

"Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving." Eph. 5:4

DRESS:

Students shall dress in a conservative manner which specifically includes, but is not limited to, the following: No exposed midriffs or cleavage; no tank tops; no excessively baggy or low-riding pants; no tee shirts with offensive logos, slogans, or images; shorts and skirts should not be above mid-thigh. Err on the side of considerate conservatism so that your fellow students are not distracted by your attire. Students are required to wear school shirts to class.

“You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in Love."  Gal. 5:13

ATTENDANCE & PUNCTUALITY:

In order for the student to achieve the greatest benefit from this academic opportunity, regular attendance and punctuality are essential. At this time, it will be left to the instructors to set the attendance requirement for completion of their course. Out of respect for our instructors, please be on time for classes and for pick-up. Habitual tardiness will result in a monetary penalty.

Honor Code

Students shall conduct themselves honestly and honorably during any testing situation. Students are expected to abstain from taking, receiving, or sharing information during tests. Students are expected to exercise honor and honesty after completion of the course by refraining from sharing course tests with students who take the class after them. If an instructor has sufficient cause to believe that cheating has occurred or is occurring, the disciplinary action will be as follows:

1st  offense: The student(s) will receive a "0" on that test and the final course grade will be reduced one, full letter grade (10 points).

2nd offense: The student(s) will receive an "F" for the course and be expelled, without refund, from LCHA.

Teachers reserve the right to more specifically monitor the learning environment and may address situations which distract from or diminish our shared purpose.

VIOLATION OF CODE:

Disciplinary action will be handled according to Matthew 18:15-17.

1.   Situation will be addressed, in private, between teacher and

      student.

2.   If unresolved, situation will be addressed with teacher, student, and

      parents.

3.   If still unresolved, situation will be addressed by the Board of

      LCHA.

No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it." Heb. 12:11

Students will be expected to demonstrate self-control and Godly discretion in their speech, actions, dress, and other forms of expression.
