Our Mission and Beliefs

Mission

We believe that our ultimate purpose in living is to glorify God and enjoy him forever. We believe that children are a heritage from the LORD and a blessing from His hand (Psalm 127:3-5). We, as parents, are accountable to Him for rearing, molding, and equipping them for a life of service to His kingdom, and to humanity. To this end, Lighthouse Classical Homeschooler's Academy has been prayerfully established to provide an atmosphere in which biblical standards and Christian values are upheld.

The purpose of Lighthouse Academy is to enhance and augment the endeavors of local homeschooling families by sharing the talents, gifts, and expertise of other likeminded individuals. Our purpose is to assist the parents in training up young people who value Godly virtue, servanthood, and the pursuit of wisdom. It is neither our intent nor desire to assume the primary teaching role of the parent. We will endeavor to offer a high quality academic opportunity, in the classical style, framed by a Biblical Worldview, which will equip our students for God's use and bring honor and glory to our Lord Jesus Christ.

Our commitment is to carry out this mission with Divine guidance through wise Godly counsel, the Word of God, and prayer.

Statement of Faith

We believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only son, our Lord. Jesus Christ was conceived by the virgin, Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into Hades and on the third day, He rose again from the dead. He ascended into Heaven, where He sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From Heaven, He shall come to earth again to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, one holy Christian church, the communion of all true saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the gift of everlasting life.

We believe the Bible to be the only inerrant word of God. It is our only authoritative rule of faith and practice.

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in Three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient. In all things He is limited by nothing other than His own nature and character. We believe the God we serve is holy, righteous, good, loving, and full of mercy. He is the Creator, Sustainer, and Governor of everything that has been made.

We believe that through Adam's sin all mankind inherited a sin nature. As a result, man is separated from God. Therefore, God provided reconciliation (salvation) by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8,9; Romans 5:12-17).
