The History of LCHA...

Early in 2003, a small group of home educating parents from the Carrollton, Georgia area began meeting to discuss the needs of their older home-educated children.  Four families emerged from this group to lead in the birthing of Lighthouse Classical Homeschooler’s Academy.  These four families, Patrick and Lynn Denney, John and Allison Earle, John and Donna Pittman, and Spencer and Wendy Slattery, shared in common a passion for Christ and a heart for home education.

They set about, under the superintendence of the Lord Jesus Christ, to form a home education ministry unlike either the traditional co-op or the traditional Christian “school.”  Three driving principles guided the foundational process:  the desire to glorify the Lord, the commitment to provide a high quality academic opportunity, and to set a new standard for “supporting, not supplanting, the home school.”

In August 2003, LCHA began ministering to its first group of students, many of whom are now in college or approaching graduation from their family’s home school.

The Earles remain active, serving on the Governing Board and tutoring students.  What an adventure this journey has been!
