Satchel Cooper Cox has arrived!!!

Satchel's Leap: 5/29/05 12:50pm
"i will take the sun in my mouth and leap into the ripe air alive with eyes closed" - e.e. cummings

He leaped into our lives on May 29, 2005 at 12:50pm. We had planned on a natural birth, but after 12 hours of labor and almost 2hrs of pushing, Satchel got stuck in my pelvis due to his asynclitic presentation. He was delivered via C-Section by the wonderful Dr. Nicholas Montalto to whom we are very grateful. We are also grateful to our doula, Christine Goldman and our hypnobirthing practitioner, Virginia Waldron for their guidance during the most profound and beautiful experience of my life!

The Un-expected C-Section
Our family...together at last!

Satchel and Dad
A very peaceful and smiley Satchel

We slept together as a family!
(Satchel's hospital bed decorated with the blessings from his baby shower)

A very big yawn from a very sleepy boy!

Going Home!
It was a beautiful experience, but we couldn't wait to go home!

One of Satchel's many smiles.
He's such a happy guy. He is four days old in this picture.

Scratch on Satch: Satchel at 5 1/2 weeks old...
still smiling and sporting his first self-inflicted wound!
