The Falcone crime family is being picked off one by one, and each murder is tied to a holiday. The press have dubbed
the mysterious individual and his presents the 'Holiday Killer', but cute names won't deter Batman from finding
the one responsible.
The Long Halloween is one of my favorite Batman stories, and it's collected here in a single volume for easy reading.
Though Batman stays out of a lot of the action, readers are treated to the detective side of the bat. At the same time,
we get to see the beginnings of the Two-Face character. Harvey Dent plays a very interesting role here, and close attention
will reveal some of the more interesting threads that eventually lead to the creation of Two-Face.
All in all, The Long Halloween is a wonderful who done it style murder mystery with tons of suspects, red herrings, and
one big shocking conclusion. The murder scenes are played out beautifully, and many of the signature villains from Batman's
rogues gallery put in an appearance. Batman fans will thoroughly enjoy this book, and anyone that's interested
in seeing the bat at his best would do well to grab a copy of this as soon as possible.
