Midsomer Murders is a murder mystery series first broadcast by the BBC and adapted directly from Caroline Graham's superb
series of books. Each 90+ minute episode follows the exploits of Detective Chief Inspector Barnaby as he tries to uncover
the killer or killers.
This first set in the series contains 4 episodes: Death's Shadow, Strangler's Wood, Blood Will Out, and Beyond the Grave.
Each episode is entirely self contained, making it extremely easy to dive straight in without any need to watch them in a
specific order.
I first came across this series years ago when A&E showed it in a late night time slot and I was quickly hooked.
The twisting plotlines and amazingly well concealed killers are given even more weight by the wonderful acting by John Nettles(Barnaby).
Set in the English countryside, the small villages and beautiful scenery add even more polish to this well written and well
filmed series. I highly recommend this to ANYONE that is a fan of shows like Columbo, Poirot, Touch of Frost, or even
Monk.
