In the not too distant future society has become little more than a police state, and television has become little more
than a series of violent life-or-death 'reality' shows. Of these shows, one stands far above the rest. The Running
Man pits criminals against 'stalkers' in a battle for survival. Should the criminal survive, they can be granted any
number of prizes ranging from a 'trial by jury' or even a 'full pardon'.
Arnold Schwarzeneggar stars as Ben Richards, a one-time cop that was wrongly blamed for slaughtering women and children.
Nicknamed the Butcher of Bakersfield, Richards is sent to prison. Following his escape and eventual capture he is recruited
onto The Running Man and much mayhem ensues.
Fans of good old-school action films will love this movie. Filled with memorable one-liners and post-kill quotes,
The Running Man is an excellent movie for anyone looking for a good, simple film that doesn't require much thought to fully
enjoy. The effects may be dated and the stars long since past their prime, but this movie is still a must for fans of
action and fans of Arnold.
