Her question chases me across worlds, through time eternal.  Long have I sought her not knowing how to answer.

 

I have endured the day and longed for the night.
I have lived the darkness and prayed for the light.
I have walked in the shadows and run from fears.
I have basked in the sun and longed with tears.
I have walked in green pastures with the Lord at my side.
I have stalked through the cities with the Devil as my guide.
I have vanquished kingdoms so innocence could be freed.
I have enslaved the masses in the name of greed.

 

I have crossed the width and breadth of time.  I have seen worlds born, and I have seen worlds die.  In quiet moments and shadowed halls, I can hear the echoes of eternity, as if my presence has set the placid stillness of time rippling in on itself.  My arrival portends the end of all things.  Are you prepared to sacrifice all that you are to save all that you have?
