This photo was meant to symbolize my ever striving upwards, looking to the future, brave new world of technology, etc. Etc. etc.

It also helped that there was a fence high enough for me to reach the ladder on the pole.

I was also looking for a strong vertical shot.

This photo was a complete success, in my opinion.
