Crazy are the ones sane enough to know
they are a brick short of a load?
Guess I am crazy.
Struggling everyday to figure out how to record &
keep track of all these songs that appear in my head.
You can support my "addiction to words &
music" by praying for my sanity...
haha... as I hunt for ways to "afford" the addiction.
I am blessed & fortunate to have many valued
friends; always there, always eager to listen.
As I keep writing & documenting the history of
families; music is being added to the words & memories swirling 'round.

Speaking of Country
Shindig days:
Wish I could supply
the viewers of this website with pics of me with Conway and Dolly & others.
However, no one
seems to know what has happened to all those pictures taken in the 1970's?
We had Jim Finley
take lotsa pics during those days. In fact, after speaking with Jim Finley, he too, would love to see the pics
as there was one of him and Dolly in the mix.
Maybe they will
turn up someday...
Lodge of the Four Seasons, Lake Ozark,
Missouri, became a base for my entertainment for about 12 years.
From 1974 through the mid 80's, I performed as a single
act in the Safari Lounge, entertained Ballroom crowds w/bands, opened for acts in the Wild Horse Saloon.
During this time, I also performed at the Chase Park
Plaza in St. Louis and for KPLR TV in St. Louis.
Many folks came by and sat in during my time at the
Lodge. Buck Trent, Bill Anderson, Wayne Carson to name a few. Gov. Kit Bond loved bluegrass and country and was a gracious
listener many times. In 1975, Bill Anderson was kind enough to take the time to listen to some of my first originals.
When asked what he thought of my songwriting, he answered " a female Kristofferson".
Years later, Bill was still kind enough to give this
songwriter some valued advice and some "heads up" on the changes one could face. We all know Bill has not slowed down,
as some of his biggest hits are still being cut.
Buck Trent made a phone call to Porter Wagoner during
his first visit to the Lodge.
Buck told Porter he needed to listen to this
gal in Missouri who could really write and sing. However, Porter was still depressed about Dolly leaving his show
and wasn't interested in any "chick singers".

A wild
story, handed down through the Saxton Family History Book & tall tales told around the campfire, has inspired me to write
a western flavored song "I Ride Mustangs".
This song takes
you on a ride you will not soon forget, as true history is passed along to the listener. It gallops from beginning to end
and gives the listener a glimpse of the west, when it was new to the white man.
Stay tuned for more
news concerning the release of this song as well as lots of new materials.
It has become my
passion to write new songs about the past...
things we don't
want to lose.
"I think I
have found my niche".
