Tortelvis & Ed Zeppelin

UK-led-ED

Kerrang! made the announcement in their July 7, 1990 issue:

"Rapidly rising US Reggae-Led Zep-Elvis rockers Dread Zeppelin undertake their debut UK tour in August. They release their astonishing Robert Plant-approved Zeppelin covers album, 'Un-led-Ed', through IRS on July 23."

Judging by all the press coverage, you'd have thought the Brits were anticipating the second coming of Led Zeppelin! Reporters who wanted to give their readers a sneak peak traveled to the U.S. to meet the Mighty Dread and the man called Tortelvis. These British music magazine articles recall the summer of 1990, the summer that brought "pure innertanement" to the UK.
