Jazz, Jazz, Jazz

I am a 50 year old competitive fisherman.  I retired from the United States Air Force after serving 26 years of dedicated service.  I'm 6' 3" and weigh approximately 216 lbs.  Right now I'm enjoying a slow transition to retired life while maintaining fishing focus.  "Fishin' is the Mission"

I was born in Springfield, Ohio, where I spent my formative years learning to be the man my parents intended me to be, a man of integrity.  I graduated from Springfield South High in 1976 and immediately joined the Air Force.  The military took me to Louisiana where I met the love of my life, Alma, it didn't take long for me to fall in love and marry my soulmate who was also serving on active duty.  The military took us to various places to include Andrews AFB, Maryland, where I served 9 plus years in the 89th OMS providing maintenance support on the Presidential Support Aircraft.  We moved overseas to Okinawa, Japan and served there for 5 plus years.  We returned to the states August 1995, just in time to be introduced to Hurricane Opal.  We enjoyed our introduction to the hurricane ladened area so much we've resided in Valparaiso, Florida every since.

Taking time for a Kodak moment

What a job!

My job now requires me to stay on the water as much as possible.  I feel like each fishing trip or tournament I compete in prepares me that much better for the next event.  Practice, practice, practice and when you feel you're ready a little more practice is needed.  The thing I like most about competitive fishing is also the thing that frustrates me most and that is the fact that nothing happens the same way.  Whether it be moments later or hours it requires constant adjustments on your part.  Loving a job that requires me to deal with constant frustration? Hard to believe, huh?  I really love the sport so it doesn't seem like work.
