Joe currently tours about 100 days each year but is based in Las Vegas performing mostly private and corporate events there. Being a born performer, he loves working a few restaurants a week and at several casinos. Email him with the dates you will be in Vegas and he'll email back his public schedule for during your visit.

Whenever possible, Joe comes down to Los Angeles to lead his "Joe Vento Big Band." Every Wednesday evening, from about 8 -10 pm, Joe's Big Band plays a free live performance at Las Hadas Restaurant and Cantina, 9048 Balboa Blvd. Northridge, CA (across from Target at Nordhoff and Balboa). No Cover, No Minimums. Reservations: 818.892.7271 (If you call for reservations, please mention that you are there to see the Vento Band so you get seated in the correct room) Note: around holidays the band sometimes takes a week off so do call to make sure they will be there.

Our Lead Vocalist and Associate
Director - Russell Nakaoka

When Joe is unable to lead his band due to other commitments in Las Vegas or when he is on tour, either his Associate Director, Russell Nakaoka or Associate Conductor, Gaylord Rohloff, or guest conductor Rex Merriweather take the reins. This band has been at Las Hadas for over 15 years - an almost unheard record in today's world.

Conductor soloing in front of the
band in his "Secret Agent Medley".

Gaylord Rohloff is also one of our
vocalists - when not singing, he is
an integral part of our trumpet section.

The Big Band is made up of professional Big Band players, studio musicians, students and a variety of singers. Some of the guest singers who have come in to sing just in the last several years include Martha Tilton, Marilyn King, Phil Crosby Jr., Chanda Lear, Butch Stone, Michael Levin, Ciro Giorgio, and the list just goes on.

Los Angeles Times Review (online) February 26, 2008

RAVE Joe Vento's Wednesday show rocks... if that's the right word for an 18-piece band playing "Li'l Darling" and "In the Mood". The crowd ranged in age from couples who probably actually danced to Dorsey and Miller's bands to twentysomethings who just stopped in for a drink and stayed for the performance. The all-star musicians are all-volunteer-- a mix of session players, students, even an investment banker, who show up every week out of love for this musical form. Vento (who must be close to eighty) has the energy and enthusiasm of an eighteen year old. He's a charming and funny host who keeps the set bouncing for nearly two hours, Go see this show! - Robert Roll
