SORTING DIRECTORY ENTRIES IN EXPLORER
If you're using the "Details" view of
Windows Explorer (which looks like what you get by typing
"DIR" in DOS), then you can sort the files and
subdirectories listed in various orders: ascending or
descending by name alphabetically, for instance, or
increasing or decreasing by file size. To do this just
click on the column name to toggle the order between
ascending and descending (the column names are Name,
Size, Type, and Modified.) If your Explorer view doesn't
look like a "DIR" listing, but instead appears
to be a bunch of named icons, then you change to the
"Details" view by pulling down the View menu
and selecting Details.
