Windows Explorer Tips

COLLAPSE FULLY EXPANDED FOLDER

Note: this tip should be read in conjunction with FULLY EXPAND FOLDERS IN EXPLORER in the Windows Explorer Tips category

Now, if you have fully expanded the subfolders of a folder as described above, you can click on the minus sign next to the topmost folder in order to get rid of the full expansion. But, guess what? If you then later click on the plus sign, your full expansion pops up again! If you really want to eliminate that full expansion, then press the F5 function key immediately after clicking the minus sign next to the topmost folder.
