REMOVE TOOL BAR/TASK BAR TITLES
A very nice capability that Windows 98 has over Windows
95 is that you can have various Toolbars active besides
the normal Taskbar; for example, the Links Toolbar, the
Address Toolbar, and the Quick Launch Toolbar. Or you can
even define your own Toolbars. Most people put these new
toolbars on the Taskbar, which they might have to modify
the size of in order to be able to conveniently see all
the contents. But if you have a lot of icons on your
Taskbar or Toolbar(s), you might be getting a little
short in space. One way you can conserve space is by
removing the Toolbar titles, leaving only the icon. (If
you just let your mouse pointer rest on an icon, you will
get a "tool tip" with the name of the
associated program, so who needs a title on the toolbar?)
In order to remove a toolbar title, just right-click it
and click in order to uncheck Show Title on the context
menu that pops up.
