RECOVER A HIDDEN TASKBAR
If you auto-hide your Taskbar -- or even if you don't,
but your mouse "stumbles" when you are
re-sizing it -- sometimes it can happen that your Taskbar
will be so small that you cannot drag it up again. In a
previous edition of this column, I detailed one way of
getting out of this big dilemma, by using your keyboard.
But here is another way: first press Ctrl and Esc keys at
once in order to bring up the Start Menu. Now click on
Settings, and then click on Taskbar. In the Taskbar
Properties page, if you have a check mark next to Auto
Hide, then uncheck it. Or, if you don't have a check mark
there, click to put one. Now click on OK, and now you
should see your Taskbar back on the display. Once you can
view it again, you might want to go back to the Taskbar
Properties dialog and re-enter whatever value you prefer
for Auto Hide.
