MAKING THE TASKBAR MORE VERBOSE

If you have enough memory, you can probably start up a half dozen or more programs at once under Windows. The new task bar makes it quite easy to switch between these different programs because all you have to do is move your mouse pointer to the proper location on the task bar and click to move instantly to another program. But you've got only a small space (80 characters across the screen) to display the names of the different programs you're running all at once. Often Windows has to shorten the full name of the program running. Can you get the full name? Yes, just move the mouse pointer to the partial name displayed on the taskbar, let it rest there for a second or two, and up will pop a "tools tip" (a la MicroSoft Word for Windows) that contains the entire name.
