THE ADDRESS TOOLBAR
Here's another thing you can add to your Taskbar if you
have Internet Explorer 4.x or higher installed on your
system: an Address toolbar. This Address bar looks very
similar to the one you have in your browser window, where
you type in an internet URL in order to go to the
associated web site. You install it as follows: first,
right click on an empty area of your Taskbar. Up will pop
a context menu from which you can select the Toolbars
item, and then you click on the Address subitem. You can
resize this Address bar by placing your mouse pointer
over the vertical bar at its left edge, and when the
cursor changes into a pair of arrows pointing left and
right, you then click and drag so as to make the bar
either bigger or smaller. Now, one of the nice things
about using this bar to go directly to a web site from
the Desktop is that it will have the same auto complete
feature that Internet Explorer has by default; that is,
you have to just start typing in your desired URL, and
the rest of it may pop up automatically. When that
happens, just hit the Enter key; if the right URL hasn't
popped up yet, keep on typing.
