USING THE DISK CLEANUP TOOL
The Disk Cleanup tool is available to both
Windows 98 and Windows ME. Here is how you run it: click
on the Start button, select Programs, then Accessories,
then System Tools, and then finally click on Disk
Cleanup. You enter the drive you want to clean up by
selecting it from the drop-down list (click on the
downward pointing arrow on the right end to have the menu
list drop down.)

You are given a Dialog box with suggested obsolete files
with a check box next to each. If you want to delete that
item, click to put a check mark there. This is on the
Disk Cleanup tab. You can also choose to remove unneeded
Windows components or installed programs; you get to
these by clicking on the More Options tab. To see what is
included in a Windows component, click on the component
to select it and then click the Details button. If there
are only specific items you want to remove from the
component, click to clear the check boxes of the items
you wish to eliminate. Finally, click the Cleanup button.
