USE CLIPBOARD VIEWER TO SAVE .CLP FILES
Windows 9x and ME have a built-in program called the
Clipboard Viewer for viewing the current contents of the
Windows Clipboard. (The Clipboard is a part of memory set
aside for holding the contents, such as text or graphics,
which you have used the Edit menu's Cut and Copy command
that is present in many programs.) Whenever you cut or
copy something new to the Clipboard, it overwrites
whatever was saved there before. There are many free and
commercial programs out there that you can use to get
past this limitation.

However, you can use the Clipboard Viewer to do it also.
If there is some text, graphics, or url, for example,
that you may want to paste over and over again, what you
need to do is this: immediately after cutting or copying
it to the Clipboard, call up the Clipboard Viewer. If the
Viewer is installed on your machine, this normally can be
done as follows: click the Start button, then Programs,
then Accessories, then System Tools, and finally
Clipboard Viewer. If the Viewer is not installed on your
system, then you will need to do so by going to
Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel, clicking on the
Windows Setup tab, clicking on the System Tools item,
clicking the button for Details, and then putting a check
mark next to Clipboard Viewer.
Once you are in the Clipboard Viewer, then on the File
menu, choose Save as, and choose some name. (Normally it
will be saved with a file extension of .CLP) When you
want to re-use that clipboard item, open the Clipboard
Viewer, click on the File menu, and then click on Open,
select the file you saved before, and click Yes to the
question about whether you want to clear the Clipboard's
contents. Now the file you opened will replace the
Clipboard contents, and you can start up (if necessary)
the program where you want to paste this contents.
