DISABLE FAST SHUTDOWN
One advantage of Windows 98 over Windows 95 is a
faster shutdown sequence. But this is achieved by
powering down the computer without having each running
application shut itself down first. This sort of thing
could be dangerous. If you want to disable this feature,
you do the following: click on the Start button, then
Programs in the Start Menu, then Accessories, then System
Tools, and finally System Information. When that program
starts up, you click on the Tools menu to get to the
System Configuration Utility. When you click on the
button for Advanced, you can now make sure to put a check
mark next to Disable Fast Shutdown.
