MAKE YOUR BOOT DISK "SEE" A ZIP
DRIVE
If you have an Iomega Zip drive, it is a very handy tool
for backing up files. When I bought mine, it connected
through the parallel port and each Zip Disk held up to
100 megabytes of storage. Now you can get Zip drives that
are internal to your computer, or connected through a
SCSI port, or even connected by USB. Also, they have Zip
Disks that hold up to 250 megabytes of storage. But if
you have to boot into DOS using your boot disk, normally
your computer will not "see" your Zip drive.
What you have to add to your Boot Disk are certain files
from your Iomega system install floppy (or from your hard
drive, most likely in the folder Tools_9x.) You should
copy all the files that have the ".sys" file
extension, as well as:
guest.exe
guest.ini
Nibble.ilm
Nibble2.ilm
The next thing to do is create an autoexec.bat file for
your boot disk which contains only the single command
"guest". (You can use Windows Notepad to create
this autoexec.bat file.)
