BYPASSING BOOT SEQUENCE ON WINDOWS RESTART
There are some cases when you need to restart
Windows in order to make a setting change take effect
(for example, a change of size for the icons and
associated font for printing icon name.) In this case you
don't need to really perform all the actions done on
boot-up of Windows; you can bypass the boot sequence by:
holding down the "Shift" key when you click on
the Restart Computer item in the Shut Down dialog box,
continuing to hold down the Shift key while you click on
"OK", and then letting go of the
"Shift" key when you see the message
"Windows is now restarting." Using this tip
will save you twenty to thirty seconds of time because
instead of really re-booting, Windows will exit to Real
mode and restart.
