WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER (WINME)

Windows ME definitely has a lot of new features that will please home users who are interested in media. Windows Movie Maker, available in the Accessories folder off the Start Menu Programs folder, is the most ambitious addition. It works with USB and Firewire video capture devices and also many analog camcorders or VCRs. You can edit video clips, add a voice track with a microphone, add titles to imported single frame images, create dissolve transitions between clips, and many other things. You can only record into Microsoft's proprietary .ASF streaming media format.

A new folder called My Pictures has been added to the My Documents folder, and its default view is Image Preview. Hovering your cursor over a graphic image will display a larger preview of it at the bottom left of the window, and there are buttons above the display which can be used to quickly print, zoom, or rotate the image.
