CLOSING APPLICATIONS WITH TASKMAN
In Windows 3.x there was a program called TASKMAN.EXE,
the Task Manager. This still exists in Windows 95,
although the window it presents you with is modified from
the previous version. You can access the Task Manager by
clicking on the Start button, choosing Run ..., and then
typing TASKMAN in the field for the name of the program
to run. (You don't have to enter the name in all
capitals, lowercase will do.) You will be presented with
a list of the currently running tasks, and you can choose
which one (or ones) to close down by clicking on the name
and then choosing End Task on the Windows menu. You could
also choose the Switch to option on this menu in order to
re-start the program, but this is probably unnecessary
since it should be already present on your taskbar and
you can easily switch to it by clicking on the proper
button of the taskbar.
