CHANGING ICONS
In order to change the icon for a shortcut on
your desktop, you must right-click on the current icon,
select "Properties" from the context menu that
pops up, select the "Program" tab, and then
click on "Change Icon..." You'll be taken into
the Change Icon Wizard, where you are normally given a
selection of icons from the file PIFMGR.DLL. There is not
a very large selection of icons in this library. If you
click on the Browse button, you can search other
libraries, such as SHELL32.DLL for instance. Windows 3.x
icon libraries work also, so if you still have them
around, browse for PROGMAN.EXE or MORICONS.DLL in the
Windows 3.x folder. Incidentally, you can NOT change the
icon for an executable file in Windows 95, only for a
shortcut pointing to it.
