REMOVE MY DOCUMENTS FROM DESKTOP IN WINME

There are several ways of removing the My Documents icon from your Desktop. One way is to go in and alter the Windows Registry. In Win98, you can right click the icon and select Remove from Desktop. If you are using Windows ME, then you can do it in this manner: open up a Windows Explorer window, click on the Tools menu, select the Folder Options item. Next click the View tab, and in the section of that page labelled Advanced Settings you can deselect the item labelled Show My Documents on the Desktop. Then you click OK. If you ever want the My Documents icon back on your Desktop, go through the same procedure but put the check mark back next to the item in question.
