REACTIVATE THE CHANNEL BAR

Note: this tip needs to be read in conjunction with REACTIVATE THE ACTIVE DESKTOP in the Desktop Tips category.

Another option that came with the Active Desktop was the Channel Bar, which allows you to "subscribe" to web pages, and display their content on your Desktop. Many people turned this off, too, since it ate up so many computer resources. But now you have decided you want to have that feature back. Start off in the same way as you did above to reactivate the Active Desktop, but before clicking on OK you need to put a check mark next to Internet Explorer Channel Bar. (This tip works for only those people who are using Internet Explorer version 4.)
