CONTROL SCREEN EFFECTS
Another Windows 95 Plus feature present in Windows 98 is
the ability to modify screen effects. Again, you begin by
right-clicking an empty area of the desktop and choosing
Properties, and clicking on the Effects tab.

If you click on the check box for "Large Icons"
the icons will become about twice as large as they
usually are when this check box is not checked. When you
click on Use Menu Animations, your menus will slide out
from the side rather than snap out. If you use a large
font on your display, Windows 98 can smooth the edges of
the screen fonts, in order to make them appear sharper,
if you choose the check box for Smooth edges of screen
fonts. You can check the box for showing icons using all
possible colors (if it isn't already checked off.) This
will affect both desktop and Explorer folder icons.
Finally, there is a check box for Show Window Contents
While Dragging. (Normally, when you move or re-size a
window by dragging it or a border of it, you will only
see an outline of the window. But with the check box
enabled, you also see the window contents as you drag
your mouse.)
