MULTIPLE MONITORS

Windows 98 introduced the ability to have two or more monitors connected to your computer. In fact you can have as many as eight, although I don't know why anyone would want to have that many. Once you install the new hardware, double click on the Display icon in Control Panel, select the Settings tab. Let us say you have two monitors connected, then there will be two monitor icons displayed, each numbered 1 or 2. To configure the second display so that it becomes a continuation of the Desktop of the first, do the following: 1) click on the picture of the monitor numbered 2 to highlight it; 2) drag the two pictures of monitors so that their placement agrees with how the real monitors are physically arranged; 3) set up the second monitor so that both monitors will have the same number of colors and the same screen area; 4) click OK. Now you can move windows from one monitor to another and have a much wider Desktop to work with.
