CREATE A STARTUP DISKETTE
If you ever have trouble booting from your hard
drive, you'll want to be able to boot from your floppy
drive, which means you need a startup disk. You do this
by first clicking on Settings on the Start menu, then
clicking on Control Panel, next clicking on Add/Remove
Programs, then choosing the tab for creating a startup
diskette.

Various useful DOS command program files are copied on to
a system (bootable) diskette. You might want to add a few
files, like an appropriately modified AUTOEXEC.BAT and
CONFIG.SYS files, if you need them. And it could be a
good idea to include SYSTEM.INI, WIN.INI, and the
registry files SYSTEM.DAT and USER.DAT. (To get those
last two, you will need to temporarily remove their
hidden and read-only status with the ATTRIB -H -R command
in an MS-DOS session.)
