CREATING A CUSTOMIZED TEXT SCREEN SAVER
Windows 9x has two built-in screen savers that you can
use to create your own text screen saver. You might want
to leave a message (to your family or co-workers, as the
case may be) that "I will be back at 2:00", for
example, or some such thing. Once you decide what text to
use, here is how you put it in a screen saver.
Right-click on some blank area of your Desktop. That will
bring up a context menu from which you can choose
Properties by clicking on it. You are shown the Display
Properties page. Click on the Screen Saver tab to bring
it to the front. Click on the arrow in the list box that
lists your current Screen Saver -- which may be
"(None)" -- and choose either 3-D Text or
Scrolling Marquee. Now click on the button for Settings.
Click in the Text box and replace what is there with your
desired text. Click on OK twice to close the Screen Saver
dialog box and the Display Properties page. The next time
your screen saver starts up, it will display your own
personalized message!
