CENTERING A SMALL GRAPHIC AS WALLPAPER
Suppose you have a neat little graphic, which doesn't
cover the entire Desktop, but which you would like use as
your Desktop wallpaper, centered rather than tiled.
Assume further that it is already a "bitmap"
file; that is, that the file extension (3 letters after
the period) is BMP. Then you can do it by using the
Windows Paint program. Do you know about this built-in
Windows Accessory? You access it usually by clicking on
the Start button, then clicking on Programs, then
Accessories, and then finally Paint.

Once in the Paint program, you have to bring in your
graphic image that you would like to use as your centered
Desktop wallpaper: click on the File Menu and choose
Open... You will be taken to an Open File dialog box
where you can type in the name of the desired bitmap
graphic file (possibly after "browsing" to find
the right folder.) You might want to use Paint's brushes
and line drawing tools and pixel-editing capability to
modify your graphic. Then you need to click on the File
menu again and choose the Save command. Next, click on
the File menu once more but this time choose the option
Set as Wallpaper (Centered). When you exit the Paint
program you will have your graphic centered on the
Desktop.
