FIND WHAT VERSION OF WINDOWS 95 YOU HAVE
If you recently bought your computer, then you have what
is called OEM Service Release 2 of the Windows 95
operating system. This supports the Universal Serial Bus,
the new FAT32 file storage system, and has various other
features and bug fixes. How do you find out which version
you have? Just right click on the My Computer, choose
Properties from the context menu, and look at the version
number. The OEM Service Release 2 has a version of
4.00.950 B, while the original retail version has the
same number but without the "B".
For Windows 98, this page will say either "Microsoft
Windows 98" or "Microsoft Windows 98 Second
Edition", and for Windows Millenium Edition, it will
say "Microsoft Windows ME".
